Today, we are announcing that we will be retiring real-time streaming in Power BI. This impacts organizations and users who use these capabilities today to stream data and update dashboards in real time. Direct Lake  speeds up data-driven decisions by unlocking incredible performance directly against OneLake while ensuring maximum data reusability across Fabric. Last month, we announced a major update for developers working on Direct Lake models:  Live editing of Power BI semantic models in Direct Lake mode.  Now, you can use Power BI Desktop to edit Direct Lake semantic models, improving your data modeling experience and allowing export to Power BI Project (PBIP) for professional development workflows. With live edit every modification is applied to the semantic model in the workspace, ensuring a seamless and efficient workflow. Deep dive into DAX query view for web

In Power BI, DAX  formulas  are used to define different types of calculations such as measures or calculated columns. DAX  queries , on the other hand, can be used to return data from the semantic model. DAX queries are like SQL queries in that they can show your data by specified group by columns and aggregations. For DAX queries, this includes the measures already defined in your model and you can define additional query scoped measures, if needed. To  write DAX queries  in DAX query view in the web, there is a workspace setting that needs to be enabled and there are two entry points. 1. DAX query view in the web needs the   User can edit data models in the Power BI service (preview)   turned on. This is found in Workspace settings > Power BI > General. Ask Copilot questions against your semantic model (Preview)

We are pleased to announce that you can now ask Copilot for data from your entire semantic model! Just tell Copilot what you’re looking for, and Copilot will query your model to answer your question with a visual. Getting Started To enable the feature, make sure your model  meets the appropriate requirements , then simply toggle on the preview mode in the top right corner of the Copilot pane. What kinds of questions does the feature support? This new capability supports a wide range of different types of analysis. While the exact questions which Copilot can answer will depend on the specifics of your model, here are some examples: Show me sales amount and profit for the last 2 years. What are the top 3 product lines by customer rating? Which dairy product has the most profit in Australia?
