Learn With The Nerds: Power Apps Portals

Overview:

Power Apps Portals helps organizations scale their license to thousands of people by paying by capacity and not named users. It also allows you to extend Power Apps applications to partners, customers and large amounts of employees or students. In this session, Brian Knight will show you how to construct one from the ground-up. He’ll stand up a new Power Apps Portal, configure it and ultimately build forms and lists to show the necessary data to only those with rights.

What You'll Learn:

  • Build a Power Apps Portal
  • Use DataVerse to store your data
  • Secure the data in Power Apps Portals with row-level security
  • Build a back-office application to manage the data from Portals

Prerequisites: (to follow along)

  • DataVerse must be installed
    • Click Data -> Tables to confirm that it is installed. If you see tables, you’re good.
  • Create a blank Power Apps Portal in the same developer environment
    • Go to https://make.powerapps.com then click Create Portal from Blank in the appropriate environment. This will take about 40 minutes and you’ll receive an email afterwards.

Date Time : Thursday, August 12,11am - 2pm EST
